Chrome Music Lab and Song Maker

Music in the classroom, a creative way to explore music and different instruments. To make a song, add notes by clicking the grid. You can also share your song as a link and use a MIDI keyboard or sing a note into your mic. In addition, use your computer keys by pressing the arrow keys to move, enter and backspace to add and remove notes, and space-bar to play.  Have fun exploring!

Connecting Students and Experts

If you have not yet ventured into connecting your classroom via video with other classrooms around the country or even in our district. Google Meet might be your tool to reconsider and get started. Skype has been another video conference tool used but teachers tell us they don't want to set-up a Microsoft account and sometimes the teacher or expert they are connecting with does not use Skype either. Well, no more excuses. Use your Google account to set up video connections where the person you are connecting with only needs to click on a link to connect. No accounts needed. Moving to: New Google Sites

New Google Sites
For the longest time, Google Sites felt like the forgotten app in Google’s productivity suite. In 2016, though, the company announced that it would finally give Google Sites a full overhaul.

Now that the New Google Sites has been around for 2 years the conversation has started about sunsetting the Old Google Sites, which basically means when will Google stop supporting the Old Google Sites. Currently, there is no specific date, but 9-15 months seems a good window to plan for.

So how are we supporting schools, teachers and students to move their Old Google Sites to the New Google Sites?

June 4th - All day workshop to work at your own pace with LPS support staff to help you walk through migrating your Google Site over. This is already available for registration in Performance Matters.

Help Videos/Directions:

One on One Help: Remember that one of our essential roles is to support LPS staff. If you want to do this together, simply email one of us and we can get together and walk you through the process.

First grade teacher Kelly Huber at Franklin worked with Dana a few weeks ago and was done in under 30mins.

Infographics - Nailed It!

OK, for some of you who have tried Infographics with your students, you may have had one of those Pinterest "Nailed It" moments where yours never looks the way it was advertised or the website says it could look? Well, welcome to trying new things. As you continue to explore online tools in your classroom we would love for you to share student products for other LPS teachers to view. Sometimes the "Nailed It" project that we might view as a failure turns out to be the highlight of learning. If you are interested in trying Infographics where students need to synthesis data and present this information in a visual way try:Venngage: Free Infographic Maker
